Team MBYC News and Upcoming Events

Team MBYC had 25 sailors at the Junior Invitational/North Series this past weekend. That meant getting 7 coach boats and 3 trailers full of Sabots and Lasers over to SDYC, so we'd first like to thank all our towing families: Tillson, Henderson, Painter, Shand, Fretwell, Markworth, Carper, Krebs, Merkle and Cunningham. Without YOUR support, we couldn't get the team to these events.

Our kids performed fantastically, were great sports and had a blast, as usual! In the Laser Fleet, Cole and Garrett took 2nd and 3rd respectively. Garrett was on fire Sunday, winning the day!

In Sabots, MBYC has more A Fleeters now than we've had in a long time and we're seeing our young talent work their way into the top half of this very competitive fleet. Top placing A Fleet sailors are mostly high school age and as they graduate out of sabots, we'll see our sailors taking home these trophies soon enough. We are very proud of our kids for their perseverance and positive attitudes. The grit they show now will have it's rewards.

Adding to our top level Sabot Team is B Fleet CHAMPION and new A Fleeter PAIGE!!! Paige took on Sunday with an intensity that left her competition mystified, winning 3 of the 5 races to tie with fellow teammate Kaden, who also had an outstanding weekend earning 2nd. Close behind was Allie in 4th. Earning 3 of the 5 trophies in B was quite an achievement for Team MBYC and shows we have a mighty storm brewing for the next few years of Sabot competition.

Also winning and earning fleet promotion was Alex in the C2s. Alex sailed consistently both days of the regatta, never scoring worse than an 8th through all 10 races. And Will once again made the top 3 in a string of strong regattas and we know he's well on his way to a big win!

Our mighty C3s - Lucas, Logan, Evan and Elie - ALL pulled off at least one top 10 finish in their 22 boat fleet and we couldn't be more proud!!

Up next, we have a weekend filled with a variety of options. Let us know where you think you fit in!
