-
Rockstars | Ages 5-9
Tuesdays | 3:30pm - 6:00pm | Maximum 4 Sailors
-
This class focuses on getting the kids comfortable on a boat and having fun on the water and teaches the basics of sailing: the parts of the boat, how to dock a boat, learning how to trim sails, and steering a boat. Instructors sail with 2 to 4 kids in a boat. This is a great class for introducing kids to the sport of sailing.

Beginning/Intermediate Sabots | ~Ages 6-12
Tuesdays | 3:30pm - 6:00pm | Max 12 Sailors
Fridays | 3:30pm - 6:00pm | Max 12 Sailors
-
This is where you start if you are 6-12 years old with little to no sailing experience but are comfortable in and around the water. Kids sail solo in Sabots aided by instructors in coach boats. It's not uncommon that kids repeat this class for a year or two depending on how young they are to start.
Beginning Sabot Racing!!
Wednesdays | 3:30pm - 6:00pm
Fridays | 3:30pm - 6:00pm
-
This is the next step for sailors who have become comfortable in Beginning Sabots and are interested in learning more about racing. After this you're ready for our MBYC Race Team! Along with weekly practices, we have weekend club races or "regattas" called the Screaming Chickens, a fun way to experience racing for the first time right at home.
High School Sailing Team Development Program
Mondays & Wednesdays | 3:30pm - 6:00pm
Middle & High School Sailors
-
Designed for Middle & High School students interested in learning how to sail and getting into Scholastic Sailing.
-
This is where to start if you're interested in joining your school's Sailing Team or have a small team.
-
This is a great place to start if your school wants to create a team. No experience needed!
-
Practice will include sailors from La Jolla Country Day, Grauer, Santa Fe Christian & Clairemont HS
-
Teams will compete at regattas separately, but by combining at practices, allows for more affordable pricing and a more quality training experience.
